SEM Manager

Remote - Middletown, DE

Join a 2026 Inc. 5000 company and work from anywhere while running paid media that drives real, measurable growth for landscape and outdoor living companies. As a Paid Media Manager at Halstead, you'll build and manage Google, Meta, Microsoft and LinkedIn campaigns across a book of clients, with qualified leads as your main measure of success. You'll work alongside our paid media, performance marketing and SEO teams, which gives you more people to learn from, more chances to collaborate and a clear view of how paid media fits into each client's larger growth system. What makes this opportunity unique is the balance of real account ownership with perks that support your life and career: remote flexibility, equipment reimbursement, monthly perks (snack and tea/coffee subscriptions), 100% employer-paid medical (with dental/vision included), paid training and professional development, 15 PTO days to start plus holidays, and 401(k) with match.

What You'll Do

This role is hands-on, analytical and rooted in results. You'll own paid media performance for your accounts, from campaign setup and creative through budget pacing and optimization, and you'll work closely with the Project Managers, designers and writers who shape each client's strategy so that every campaign is pointed at the same growth objectives. Your work helps landscape and outdoor living companies reach the right homeowners and property managers, in the right service areas, for the services that matter most to their business.

Campaign Strategy & Execution

  • Build new campaigns and account setups across Google Ads (search and Local Services Ads), Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Microsoft Ads and LinkedIn, including cold, retargeting, event and video campaigns.
  • Manage and optimize live campaigns for lead generation, testing new campaign types, audiences and ads when performance calls for it.
  • Write ad copy, headlines and extensions that are accurate, specific to each client's services and service area, and free of errors, so every account reads like the company it belongs to.
  • Create ad graphics in Canva, and partner with the Design team on more advanced creative.
  • Research new audiences and stay current on platform updates, then bring those ideas back to your accounts and the team.
  • Set up conversion events and tracking, and troubleshoot form and call tracking from client websites.

Performance & Budget Ownership

  • Own lead generation as your primary KPI, using CTR, quality score and other platform metrics to diagnose what's working and what needs to change.
  • Pace budgets so every account spends on plan each month, without running under or over.
  • Set goals and build recovery plans for accounts with low lead volume or weak performance, with support from your director and the team.
  • Analyze data, ask questions and spot issues early, then come to the table with ideas to fix them.
  • Prepare status updates and keep reporting current so Project Managers always know where each account stands.
  • Document changes and process updates in the company training platform.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with internal Project Managers, who lead the client relationship (this is primarily an internal role, with some client exposure when covering for teammates on PTO).
  • Define landing page requirements and improvements with the Design and Copy teams so that pages support campaign goals.
  • Work alongside the SEO and Content teams so that paid and organic efforts reinforce each other.
  • Join Slack and Zoom collaboration, training sessions and workshops to keep momentum and share what you're learning.
  • Cross-train in areas like SEO, call tracking setup and competitor research, and support teammates when they're out.

You'll Thrive in This Role If You:

  • Think in terms of leads and revenue for the client, not just clicks and impressions.
  • Care about the details, like promoting the right services in the right areas with copy that's clean and accurate.
  • Enjoy managing multiple accounts, each with its own goals, budgets and seasonality.
  • Prioritize your time where it'll make the most impact and communicate proactively when something needs attention.
  • Are goal-oriented, self-motivated and driven to push performance forward.
  • Are curious, ask good questions and are committed to growing your skills and helping the team grow.
  • Enjoy a fast-paced, dynamic work style.

What Success Looks Like

  • Campaigns that consistently generate conversions and qualified leads.
  • Budgets that pace on plan every month.
  • Ads that promote only the services and service areas that matter to each client, written accurately and free of typos.
  • Accounts with low performance turned around through clear goals and a plan.
  • Strong collaboration with Project Managers, Design, Copy and SEO.
  • Deadlines met and issues communicated before anyone has to ask.
  • Work that strengthens client trust and contributes to long-term partnerships.

Required Experience

  • Hands-on experience building and managing Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns focused on lead generation (required).
  • Working knowledge of conversion tracking, including form and call tracking.
  • Strong written communication, especially ad copywriting.
  • Proficiency in Canva for ad creative.
  • Comfort working in tools like Slack, HubSpot and Zoom, along with project management platforms.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills across multiple accounts and deadlines.
  • Nice to Have: Experience in the lawn, landscape or outdoor living industry (we can teach this part), and experience with LinkedIn Ads, Microsoft Ads or Local Services Ads.

About Halstead

Halstead Media Group is a Growth Operations partner built specifically for the landscape and outdoor living industry, and a 2026 Inc. 5000 honoree, recognized as one of the fastest-growing private companies in America. Our work spans demand generation, CRM, sales process, reporting and the connections between them, because we believe growth is a system, not a collection of marketing services, and every part of it should be working toward the same objectives.

Halstead was built from inside this industry, and for more than a decade we've worked alongside hundreds of landscape companies as they've grown. As our clients needed more than marketing alone, our work expanded with them into pipeline visibility, stronger sales processes and systems that actually talk to each other. Our clients choose us because we understand the economics, the sales cycles and the seasonality of their business, and because we help them see what's creating real opportunities, winning work and driving revenue. When you join Halstead, you join a team that's helping shape how a fast-growing $100B+ industry grows.
